| Markus Raupach has had the idea to organize a (craft) beer festival in Bamberg. He's head or the "Deutscher Bierakademie", beersommelier and an author of many guides/books about breweries and pubs in Franconia, Bavaria and Berlin (now working for a book about breweries in Thuringia and Saxonia) and a he owns a marketing agency for breweries (p.e. for the Brauhaus am Kreuzberg). Because it's difficult to organise such a festival and an economic risk, he has won the local agency of the city (Bamberg Congress and Evend GmbH) which organizes the Brose Arena and the city hall (where the Bamberg Symphonie Orchestra occur. In this city hall (in the corridors and the entrance area) the stalls are (the big room is full with seats for the visitors of the music events). The city hall is near to the old city. Local politicians support this beer festival. Stalls of beer labels are not allowed, only real breweries (maybe they can offer the beer labels that they has brewed as contract breweries; I don't know).. The breweries/stalls get the whole beer sales (at the Braukunst Live in Munich they only get 50% of the sales, the other 50% go to the organisator). Markus Raupach is a consultant for the organisator. He has asked the breweries. The majority or breweries are from the Bamberg area. But there are many breweries in the area who don't like marketing and don't like to invest money to sell more beer. So You miss p.e. I recommend: Zwanzger, Sonne (Bischberg), Binkert etc. |
