Just came to mind...at a homebrew competition in Salem OR, in 1996, I was judging at one table (no idea what category we were judging) when I heard another judge at the table behind me say "it's like a lagered porter". They were judging Schwarzbier, and he was explaining to a novice judge what a Schwarzbier sould be like.
