| Now all can be revealed! We were on the North Wales coast, househunting. And we think that we've found the house we were looking for in Colwyn Bay. Offer made and accepted, now for survey and legal matters - that's a few months and several thousand pounds but it has to be done. Just got to sell our house in Ireland, now reduced to a bargain basement €125k - 160 m3, half acre of land, beautiful views, what more could you want? Anyway, the micropub was the Bay Hop in Colwyn Bay, opened in August this year, and was certainly one factor in our choice of Colwyn. Very plain but nice, very friendly, doing good business, different beer every day, excellently kept using the 'float dispense system'. I'd never heard of this before but Chris (the landlord) and a guy from Conwy Brewery explained it to me. Seems a very practical method for small places like micropubs (you can look at one version on https://www.caskwidge.com/). Talking of the guy from Conwy Brewery, I was quite impressed with some of their beers and was invited to one of their open days - well, I think anyone can go, so it was not some special thing. So, exciting times ahead for BT and JT, especially with relatively easy access to Ryanair's Manchester - Nurnburg service, making Jason's enquiries even more critical! BTW Jason, did you make your first team debut? |
