| I believe that Mark, Gerhard, Jason, Norbert, various Nebraskans, and ??? are heading out on the Bockbieranstichebus that Saturday. I'm not sure I'm man enough for it, so I've not committed to it. I'll be meeting the Cornhuskers and a couple of Engländer in Bamberg on Friday the 4th, FWIW. (That one blogger from Norwich we kicked around here a while back and his mate.) Just occured to me that I should've saved a few bottles of Munich Oktoberfests to compare with some that I could have begged Mark to bring over from Yankley. The stuff exported to the US is supposedly brewed like it used to be served at the Oktoberfest before it was dumbed down in the 90's: maltier, richer, darker. Also the Sierra Nevada / Mahr's Oktoberfest would be interesting to try out, but I don't know if it's available here. |
