Best Beer in Forchheim

Yeah, I didn't mean to suggest that every other barrel might be contaminated. It would've been good to have stuck around there on Saturday til the next barrel went on though, to try that. I'll just have to go back again.

Diacetyl is a chemical compound, the presence of which can be physically measured in beer, if I'm not mistaken. (Jim?) It's really not possible to imagine it into existence or have it be the result of having eaten a greasy snack before hand. Same with DMS (vegetal notes) and acetaldehyde (or whatever it's called that gives green-apple notes). What I call "waxiness"...not sure exactly what that's from, could just be my impression of DMS.
