Now that would be some reason to go to a Weihnachtsmarkt, otherwise, I can't see the attraction.  Maybe the Market in Bamberg isn't/wasn't a good advert for the business but we were very disappointed when we visited it some years ago.

Wandering about in the freezing cold, drinking indescribably sweet rubbish wine, drudging past endless stalls selling the same tatty stuff as in every modern-day market, listening to third-rate (that's being complimentary!) pop crap blaring out - what is the point?

Don't get me started on Christmas as a whole!

Setting up as a rival to beercurmudgeon!
